Company

DCC is owned and operated by Darren Chalmers.

Darren was born and raised in North Vancouver.  His love for the mountains was initiated in 1976 when he started skiing weekends at Whistler with his family.

Upon graduation from high school, Darren moved to Whistler full time.  In 1992, Darren was one of the first to try the then-new sport of snowboarding.  This lead to his first successful career – as a professional athlete with the Canadian Snowboard team, representing Canada at two Olympic Games, multiple North American and Canadian championships, and numerous World Cups.

Upon retirement from the Canadian team in 2002, Darren decided to focus on carpentry as his new profession.  Many of the skills that Darren mastered as a professional athlete serve him well as a contractor:  teamwork, focus, tenacity and the ability to get the job done well.

Over the years Darren has earned a solid reputation working on some of Whistler’s finest homes.  He has ten years experience in the industrial building sector (1987 – 1996) and ten years in the high-end residential building sector as an employee with other firms (1996 – 2006).  DCC was formed in 2006 when Darren decided to branch out on his own.

Darren has cultivated a team of highly skilled craftsmen and dependable sub-contractors, ensuring an exceptional standard of quality.  His commitment to excellence and keeping his team happy ensure that your job will have access to the best trades in town.

Darren’s past projects speak for themselves and he is always willing to put prospective clients in touch with previous clients for reference.
